Following the recent Local Government reorganisation, Allerdale Borough Council, Copeland Borough Council and Carlisle City Council have now become Cumberland Council.

Cumberland Council is responsible for all of the services previously covered by the Borough/City Councils and Cumbria County Council e.g. Highways, bins & recycling. homelessness etc.
