Keswick is a thriving Cumbrian market town of approximately 4,800 residents situated just north of Derwentwater within the Lake District National Park. Set amid stunning scenery, Keswick has an active local community, a range of individual shops, a twice weekly market, two magnificent parks, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and is home to Theatre by the Lake.

Keswick Town Council was created in 1974 and consists of 12 Councillors, elected by the people of the town every four years. Parking

Allerdale Borough Council manages most of the off street parking areas in Keswick. Information including parking fees and payment of fines is available on their website www.allerdale.gov.uk or you can telephone them on 0303 1231702.

Toilets

The public toilets in Bell Close & Lakeside Car Parks are owned and ran by Keswick Community Asset Company (KCAC).  There is a charge of 50p per customer.  Any issues/problems are to be reported to Danfo Tel: 01253 593141 (the management company working for KCAC).

Highways

The Highways Authority for Keswick is Cumbria County Council. To report a fault by phone, call the Highways Hotline on 0300 303 2992 (answer phone service evenings, weekends and public holidays) or or report via the following weblink http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-transport/highways-pavements/reporting-problem-on-highway/WDM/default.asp.

Please report any highways emergencies through the highways emergency telephone number – 0300 303 2992 during office hours and via the police between 5pm and 8.30am on 101

The Keswick Police Base is situated by the Keswick Ambulance Station on Penrith Road. (Please note: this is purely a Police base and not an office open to the public)
