Keswick Games is a new event, to be held on Townsfield Village Green, on Sunday 18th August, starting at 10am. This will be split into two age ranges – adult teams of six, and children’s races based on age. Children will sign up on the day, but we need the teams to sign up and pay in advance.
On the day, children will be charged £2 for each race they take part in, but the cost for the team is a total of £100 to take part in six games.
The team games will be:
- Egg and Spoon Relay – this is the traditional egg and spoon but with your team. Pass the egg to your team mate at 50m intervals. This will take speed, balance and some skill.
- Team sack race – YES, you heard it right. A team sack race – this will be a logistical nightmare with all of you in one sack! Move as one and win the race. This will take teamwork.
- The 7-legged race: This is a beefed up version of the 3 legged race. Move as one in sync. This will take team effort and speed.
- Tug of war – Lets not suck eggs here, pull the rope to win. We’ve all seen Squid Games, lean back and pull. This is brute force, pure power and teamwork.
- 600m relay – A sports day classic. Run 100m each then pass the baton.
- Obstacle Course – This is a 5-piece inflatable obstacle course to contend with. Each person has one ball of the same colour, and one at a time you must get it to the end. This is against the clock.
Team scoring for each game is on a points based system. For team games with more than 3 participating there are 3 points for 1st place, 2 for 2nd place and 1 for 3rd place. For the toe to toe games 3 points will be awarded to the winners of that game. All points will be updated on the big scoreboard as the day goes on to keep track.

Sign your team up using the form below. You can either pay by BACS transfer using the information shown on the form below, or come into the office in the Town Hall and pay either by cash or card. There is room for 18 teams to take part, on a first come first serve basis. To be able to fill in the form, you will need to have the details of all six members (with phone number and ideally email addresses). If you haven’t got all of the names, please fill in the form saying you will let us know as soon as possible.

- Skipping race
- Space Hopper race
- 200m race
There will be 9 categories, from Under 6 to Under 14 for each race. Keswick Scouts will be managing this aspect of the day, many thanks to them for their support.
Should the event be cancelled a full refund will be given
